Porsche to build an Experience Centre in California

Porsche Cars North America is to build a second Porsche Experience Centre in Carson, California. This purpose-built, 51-acre facility, which will include a road handling course, test track, an Ice Hill, special surfaces to replicate wet, snowy and icy conditions, low-friction surfaces and a challenging off-road area, is in addition to the Centre announced earlier this year for PCNA's new headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia.

The facility in California will also include a Human Performance Centre with a sports science laboratory, wellness assessments and training advice, and will run special driving programmes for kids, car clubs, corporate clients and other groups. It is designed for all the family, and there will be a Porsche Café, gift shop, dining facilities and plenty of trackside viewing areas for those not driving.

Construction will start in spring 2012, and once fully-operational, the site will employ around 70 full- and part-time staff. It will be just minutes from LAX airport. It will be one of five Porsche Experience Centres around the world, the others being in Atlanta, Leipzig, Shanghai and the one we have here in the UK at Silverstone.
