Olympic Hopefuls Katie Dawkins and Anya Tarasiuk perform at the National Age Groups

For those interested in following the efforts of our Olympic Hopefuls Anya Tarasiuk and Katie Dawkins, at the weekend they performed at the National Age Groups. - The first time they have performed their synchronised swimming routine to anyone in the UK. To our delight they have provided us a 'mini' report that we would like to share with you. This is what they both had to say:

"Last weekend we performed our Olympic routines for the first time at the National Age Groups Championships. The team was very excited to show off these routines to all the clubs in the country as we have worked very hard on choreographing them in the 3 week camp in Florida. Our coaches believe that first impressions are crucial, so it was important for us to show off the routines to our best ability. At the Olympic Games there are two team events that we compete in. One being 'the Technical' routine consisting of required elements that each country has to perform within the routine. The other is 'the Free' routine which involves expressing any theme in the most creative way possible. The judges will be looking at how the music is interpreted whilst maintaining a high degree of difficulty throughout. The best routines are those which have a unique style and are most memorable. Our 'Technical routine' this year is at great speed to increase the difficulty, whilst performing each element at exact synchronization. The audience and judges who were there took well to our routines, giving us great compliments and feedback. Everybody is super excited for us to perform next year and cannot wait for the outcome results!'
